As Swag District turn three years, it's Vice President for Administration & Operations T-Mark Korpu has called on it members to
continued living in lines with the organization principles.
In a press release signed by VP T-Mark Korpu, he said Swag District was founded three years ago on the basis of buttressing society efforts to
make Liberia a better place as well as for the love of human kind.
"Two years ago, we started making the difference in the lives of our
people despite our financial difficulties and I’m urging us to
continue this noble cause. If we want to achieve the organization
dream and continued impacting the lives of our people; let hold on to
our founding principles.
“In my capacity as VP, if we refused to hold these two cadent
principles that means we will fail in the near future, therefore I’m
appealing to you to please hold on to it,” T-Mark said.
Reflecting on Swag District achievements last year, T-Mark said the
organization was able to host a three months successful HIV, Aids
and Teenage pregnancy awareness.
He said during the awareness period we were able to educate the
younger generation about the dangers of HIV, Aids and teenage Pregnancy as
well as teaching them the preventive measures.
"Throughout the awareness period, we educated our participants about
strategies, knowledge and skills that are necessary to be used during
sex in order to reduce the increase in HIV, Aids and teenage
pregnancy rate in the country.
“Although abstinence remains the best way to prevent pregnancy and HIV
and Aid among teens, we cannot stop them from having sex; therefore
for this reason, it is important that teens be provided with knowledge
and information on how to have responsible sex,” Tmark added.
Speaking furthered, he said the organization was able to host a
spelling bee last year but the outcome did not meet their
expectation.
“We hope to do better next Year by limiting the club events and engage into
more educational events even thou we run an entertainment but we are still going to limit the club events. One of the reasons we did more social event
this year was to generate founding for educational purposes next
year,” T-Mark added.
