School problems
Our society has heightened the level of perception to which a degree is been looked at. We struggle so hard to go through school for that certificate that shows your level of knowledge in the field of study.
We become identified by certain numbers "1st Class, 2'1 , 2'2 or 3rd class". Amongst these numbers, some are more dignified than others. The society at large, looks down on the 3rd class graduates and some just feel like these sect of people do not count.
We are been pressured by family, friends to come out with a 2'1 (2nd Class upper). What if we did our best but couldn't meet up. What if our grade point average was 0.1 away from the "upper second class", does it mean we now belong to the sect that were 0.1 away to a "3rd Class".
The smart ones, the most dedicated and the most efficient workers might not necessarily be the one with the top degree. Their character, behaviour and drive should be measured too, rather that making a "number on a sheet of paper" a criteria to even make it to the test grounds.
The stereotypical mindset towards those with lesser grades on their certificate should change. You can't judge a book by the cover, you should try to read it. The job sector should be available for graduates of all kinds. To be a graduate, is not a day's job.
Truth be told, a degree does not determine the state of knowledge of an individual.
